Gender equality emerged as a key priority for international civil society in 2015 following a global survey conducted by C20 Turkey earlier this year. Women’s access to social protection, women’s employment and women’s access to financial services all polled in the top 10 issues in the C20’s survey, which led to the formation of the first ever C20 Gender Equality Working Group.
The C20 Gender Equality Working Group is responsible for consulting widely with civil society organisations from around the world and developing specific recommendations for the G20 on women's labour force participation and access to social protection.
